What sets HEW apart from other menswear boutiques is its collaborative design process that invites local artists to curate the aesthetics of the textiles. HEW's latest collaboration is with Melbourne painter, Kat Phillimore. Designer Ema Hewitt and Phillimore have collaborated on a collection of Australian Native floral prints – 'Flora’ for the A/W 18 collection - being launched at VAMFF this year. Kat Phillimore paints portraits which evoke emotion and passion with the use of distorted colour and textures. We recently caught up with Phillimore to gain a little more insight on what goes on behind her creative practice.
